Lucca is one of the most beautiful cities in Tuscany, a hidden gem with an authentic taste of Italy, and with the stunning old town surrounded by the magnificent Renaissance walls.

We fell in love with Villa Grabau and we are sure the same will happen to you! It is a beautiful historic Villa from embraced by magnificent Italian Gardens and with a extraordinary Lemonhouse just a few kilometers from the historic center of Lucca. The base of the structure you see today was built in the 1600s on top of another home which dates back to the early 1400s.

Tuscany has two international airports, the Galileo Galilei International Airport in Pisa and Amerigo Vespucci Airport in Florence. Pisa airport is larger and closer to Lucca, just 36 km from the city centre, while Florence airport is around 72 km away.

LUCCA TRAIN STATION

Lucca railway station ("Stazione di Lucca" in Italian) is a 5/10 minutes walk from the city centre. If you plan to travel by train in Italy, on the Trenitalia and Italo websites you can the timetables and buy the tickets.

RENT A CAR

Lucca hosts the biggest car rental companies like Herts, Avis and Europcar. If you arrive in Tuscany via Florence, it is also possible to rent a car directly at the city's airport.

TOP THINGS TO DO AND SEE

THE WALLS OF LUCCA - Practically intact, they cover four kilometers of panoramic walk with views of the city of Lucca, its most hidden corners and the history that these walls contain within. You can tour the city on foot, by bicycle or by quadricycle, you will find many places to rent them.

PIAZZA ANFITEATRO - This is a stop not to be missed, and it is precisely one of the most picturesque corners of the city. The elliptical square, typical of the Roman amphitheaters, is a real gem where there are shops, restaurants and bars to make a pleasant stop while you walk to discover the treasures of the city.

GUINIGI TOWER - Typical example of Lucca's Romanesque-Gothic architecture, impossible not to detect it in the landscape of the city with its famous garden of holm oaks sprouting at the top.

TORRE DELLE ORE - It is the highest tower in the city and offers an excellent viewpoint of the city.

VIA FILLUNGO - This is the main street of the historic center, beautiful and characteristic, it houses many elegant stores where you can go shopping.

SAN MICHELE SQUARE AND THE CHURCH - It is the heart of the historic center of Lucca, the starting point of many streets and alleys that connect with every corner of the city. Right there is the splendid Basilica of San Michele, whose construction dates back to the 8th century.
